More on the “bushies special”:

This is intended as a novelty event, to bring a bit of fun into this competition. It also is intended to honour the original spirit of what started as the Sporter Hunter Discipline.

A bushies special rifle is what you would expect to find on an outback farm.

To be eligible to win the prize, your bushies special rifle will be assessed by a representative of Magnum Sports at the initial sign in, weigh in.

If you want to participate in the "bushies special" novelty event, you may do so on enrolment. This novelty event will be shot separately after the end of the 600m strings. This will be scored separately to your competition score. Up to 5 handicap points will be awarded for the most beaten up bushies special.

To qualify as a “bushies special”, you must have a traditional hunting rifle, in its factory stock, which also meets the SSRs for Sporter Production. A Harris style bi-pod is required.
