This template is provided to support NSWRA Clubs to complete induction of new members or refresher training to other members, as required, to ensure that they fully understand and can demonstrate their safety competency before 1:1 supervision is removed.
Club Captains / Trainers can download the form and update details as applicable to their own Range Rules and the individual being assessed.
Please note that the NSWRA requires supervisors of newcomers, eg P650 and new members, to have held a licence for at least 2 years.
These rules are provided by our National body include best practice and safety and must be followed by all NSWRA Members. (V: 1 January 2026)
NRAA Safety Notices
November 2025 - The purpose of this notice is to reinforce correct procedures under the Standard Shooting Rules (SSR) where a catastrophic cartridge failure occurs on an NRAA-sanctioned range, including the requirement that the rifle involved and all associated ammunition are seized and retained for investigation, and that no firearm is returned to use until it has been thoroughly inspected and approved in accordance with the incident procedure.
